Sorry it’s been so quiet recently, with Georgie having her baby girl 10 weeks ago we’ve been pretty quiet on the competition front.
But having said that Georgie has been jumping and schooling Beanie and keeping him fit. We recently moved to a new yard so Georgie and B have been enjoying exploring all the new hacking around the area much to B’s excitement. They’ve been wading through fords (when we had the masses of rain last week the ford get very full) as well as cantering up the farmers stubble fields which has been really nice for them. And while they’ve been off riding I’ve been going to Silverleys to ride my friends gorgeous herd of polo ponies! I am just in love with a few of them, I’d put them in my pocket and take them home if I could!
Anyway, as some of you may know, we have a smaller addition to our little family riding team and that’s Georgie’s eldest daughter Frankie and her little shetland Millie! The last couple of weeks they have been attended their pony club camps, which is always a firm favourite for Frankie and she really has come on leaps and bounds. Long of the days of you leading and Frankie sitting there, she is now a fully-fledged rider (mostly) off the lead rein! With Frankie in control and riding it’s so lovely to watch her trot and canter Millie round the arena and even do some jumps on her own!
Yes that’s right, Frankie has been jumping. And she met her racing idol Ryan Moore to, so she seemed over the moon!
Then at the weekend a British Eventing event was held at Horseheath just down the road from us, and on the Monday the course was opened up for training, which of course Georgie was excited to take Beanie to. Again reiterating that this lady had a baby 8 weeks ago, is she mad? Probably! But Beanie is also a total saint (most of the time!). Now bear in mind that B hasn’t been over cross country fences or round a course in over a year and she absolutely loved it! He skipped over everything not even looking or hesitating once, just flew round having the best time ever! Georgie seemed to enjoy herself to!
Sorry it's really blurry!
Then last week Frankie was at Woodland Camp at Hare Park and again is off the lead rein and having a lovely time. She’s even more confident coming away from last week’s ‘proper’ pony club camp. Georgie has been out shopping and got her some new chaps and some rubber reins, adding to helping her grip and steer her little wayward shetland pony!
It looks like she’s been getting on extremely well and with the great weather, what more could you ask for!?
We have some lower level showing coming up to get Georgie back into 'showing' mode and check she hasn't forgotten and Frankie has another rally next week so we've got quite a lot going on! Hope you're all enjoying the summer with your horses and ponies!
